ECM Equipment[edit | edit source]

ECM Overview[edit | edit source]

Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) equipment jams enemy sensors and protects carrying unit as well as its teammates. ECM equipment in general has 3 auras each with its own strength and aura size, which provide following effects:

  • ECM Shield: for each point of ECM Shield, attackers gain -1 penalty to sensors identification checks and +1 to Hit modifier against allies within the aura. The color of the ECM Shield aura is Teal.
  • ECM Jamming: for each point of ECM Jamming on a target, the target suffers a -1 penalty to any sensors identification check they make. The color of the ECM Jamming aura is Blue.
  • ECCM: each point of ECCM reduces the strength of enemy ECM effects (Shield and Jamming) by 1. The color of the ECCM aura is Purple.

Both ECM Jamming and ECM Shield modifiers apply when a jammed source attempts to locate a shielded target. If there are multiple ECM sources the strongest modifier is used, +1 for each additional source. At any moment in time ECM equipment is working in either ECM mode (default) or ECCM mode.

Controls and User Interface[edit | edit source]

  • ECM mode can be selected by LCtrl+LMB click on "Move" button in the UI and then clicking ECCM/ECM in the menu.
  • By default, when unit is not selected, only ECM Jamming aura (Blue) or ECCM aura (Purple) is shown.
  • To switch between ECM auras shown - press LCtrl+A.

Active Probes[edit | edit source]

Overview[edit | edit source]

Active probes provide several effects:

  • Increase Sensor Range by certain %
  • Increase Sight Range by certain %
  • For each point of Probe Strength:
    • Reduces enemy ECM Shield effect by 1
    • Educes effect of enemy stealth armour by 1
  • For each point of Checks Strength:
    • Improves Sensor Checks by 1

Electronic Ware Suite (EWS) combines ECM and Active Probe in a single piece of equipment.
